Alicia Wills and James Ferguson Partners – Tackle Tech, Ltd.

Tackle Tech, Ltd. is a partnership between James Ferguson and Alicia Wills, a father and daughter team who share a common love for the sport of fishing. The Readi-Lure, an intelligently designed fishing tackle box, is the company's flagship product created from a long overdue need for better fishing tackle storage equipment.

The Love of Fishing
Bundled up in her hooded winter coat in the brisk 50-degree weather on Summerville Lake, little 7-year old Alicia caught her first trophy fish, a tagged lake trout that brought a prize of two big dollars! Alicia was no stranger to casting, reeling, and untangling bait, as she began fishing with her father the day she could fit into her life jacket. Toppling over her father's fishing tackle box was a regular event which made the job of finding the right lure even harder. For many years, the tradition of family fishing trips continued and expanded as Alicia became a wife and mother of three.

The Birth of the Box
It wasn't until a frustrating experience when trying to board a plane to Brazil that the concept of the Readi-Lure was born. Due to a weight restriction of 35 pounds, we were forced to leave much of our tackle behind. There wasn't space for the bulky fishing tackle box or large bag system with its many compartments. The only way to get all of our lures on the plane and comply with the airlines' regulations was to stuff a crochet-lipped bag with five plastic boxes that contained the best lures for our Peacock bass fishing trip.

During the trip, we spent so much time and effort searching for the right bait, most of the Peacock bass fish gave up and moved on. We had to repeatedly dig through multiple boxes on numerous occasions and constantly re-rig our lines to try and keep up with the pace of the strong fighting Peacock bass. We knew there had to be a better way.

The one thing we learned from our many years of fishing was that regardless of whose fishing tackle storage system we used, be it a box or a bag, it just didn't do the job. We knew just what the professional angler needed to streamline the fishing experience and were determined to design the solution. Like no other fishing tackle storage system available, the Readi-Lure was born!
